The Athens Bluejays downed Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran 9-3 in a WIAA Division 5 Regional Semifinal.
Athens was led at the plate by Abby Diethelm, who went 3-4 with a double, a triple, 3 RBI, and a run scored. Jaelin Switlick went 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI.
Switlick also got the start in the circle, going the distance, giving up 3 earned runs, on 5 hits, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts.
Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran was led by Gabi Radichel, who went 2-3 with a run scored.
Rachel Kazemba went the distance for the Lancers, giving up 9 runs, 7 earned, on 13 hits, and 2 strikeouts.
The Bluejays’ next game is against #1 seed Thorp in a regional final on Thursday.
