WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (OnFocus) – Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital has been officially designated a Level III trauma care facility by the State of Wisconsin, reinforcing its role as a vital link in the state’s trauma care network. This recognition reflects Aspirus’ unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, life-saving care to patients experiencing critical injuries across central Wisconsin.

As a Level III trauma center, Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital is equipped to provide rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization, and emergency surgical intervention. When needed, patients are seamlessly transferred to Level I or II facilities for advanced surgical or intensive care. The designation follows a rigorous review process, including a comprehensive site visit and validation of all criteria outlined in the Wisconsin Administrative Code.

Unintentional injuries remain the third leading cause of death in Wisconsin, with more than 42,000 trauma cases reported statewide in 2022. Aspirus’ participation in the Wisconsin Trauma Care System ensures that patients in the region receive timely, coordinated care that can dramatically improve outcomes.
