Zschernitz wins 285-pound title for Spencer/Columbus wrestling at St. Croix Falls Classic

ST. CROIX FALLS – Logan Zschernitz won the 285-pound title and Ashton Ackman finished second at 120 as the Spencer/Columbus Catholic wrestling team finished eighth at the St. Croix Falls Wrestling Classic on Saturday at St. Croix Falls High School.

Zschernitz improved to 32-0 this season by capturing the 285-pound title. He pinned Tanner Gaffey of St. Croix Falls in 1:08 in the championship match.

Ashton Ackman (29-5) lost in the 120-pound title match to Kaleb Adkins of Princeton, 5-0, to finish second for the Rockets.

Treyton Ackman (113) and Carson Hildebrandt (160) both finished third for Spencer/Columbus.

Treyton Ackman (28-6) won the third-place match over Markus Brown of Northwestern, 4-2, in overtime, and Hildebrandt (27-5) earned third at 160 with a 3-2 win over Williams Peters of Chetek-Weyerhaeuser/Praire Farm, 3-2.

Spencer/Columbus will host Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal as part of a wrestling/boys basketball doubleheader on Thursday at Marshfield Columbus Catholic High School. The wrestling match begins at 5:30 p.m.
