Wright Leads the Way for Auburndale in Season-Opening Win over Athens

Auburndale (OnFocus) – Auburndale opened the 2021 season by edging Athens 1-0. Schuyler Gilhausen’s RBI scored Hunter Wright in the bottom of the 4th for the winning run.

Wright was 2-3 at the plate, and picked up the complete game win, scattering 8 hits and striking out 7.

Dayne Diethelm took the loss for Athens, giving up one hit and walking one while striking out seven in four innings of work.

Cooper Diedrich was 3-4 for Athens.
