Ryan Duxbury, a graduate of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School and the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and police officer for the Roseville(MN) Police Department, has been nominated as a first responder of the year.

Duxbury’s nomination is part of MN100Oktoberfest.com’s efforts to benefit the MN100 Club. The mission of the fundraising event:

The proceeds of this family friendly event will benefit the MN100 Club whose mission is to provide financial assistance to the families of peace officers, firefighters, correctional officers, and EMS who live in Minnesota and who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty while protecting our lives and property.” – mn100oktoberfest.com

Nominated by: Roseville Police Department
In April of 2022, Officer Duxbury responded to a call of a suspect firing a gun at neighbors. The suspect fired at arriving officers, and Officer Duxbury was shot in the face during the standoff, which lasted about one hour and during which about 100 rounds were fired. He is nominated for his bravery in responding to the scene and during the incident, and for his actions which are believed to have helped save other lives that day.
