We previewed Division 5 yesterday, today we look at our Division 4 predictions.

Adams-Friendship Sectional Semifinal
Auburndale Apaches

Seed: 2
12-4 Overall 2nd Place Marawood South (8-3)
First Round Opponent: BYE (Host winner of #7 Princeton/Green Lake vs #10 Montello in Regional Semifinals)
The Auburndale Apaches currently sit in 2nd place in the very crowded Marawood South, with 5 of the 6 teams sporting winning records. This strength in the conference helps propel them up to the #2 seed even with a slightly worse conference record than the next team. But a lot can change with huge games starting with a home game against Edgar on Thursday (watch that game live at onfocus.news/sports) and ending the season with three road tests at Stratford, Athens, and Newman Catholic.

Colby Hornets
Seed: 3

10-4 Overall 3rd Place Cloverbelt East (8-2)
First Round Opponent: BYE (Host winner of #6 Necedah vs #11 Abbotsford in Regional Semifinals)
The Colby Hornets are in a unique situation this year, the past few years have seen them run the table through the Cloverbelt East, this year they have come back to the pack but still find themselves in very good positions. The big test will come next week with games at Loyal and at Neillsville (watch both games at onfocus.news/sports).

Marathon Red Raiders
Seed: 5

8-5 Overall 3rd Place Marawood South (7-4)
First Round Opponent: BYE (At #4 Pacelli in Regional Semifinals)
The Marathon Red Raiders are part of the big logjam in the middle of the Marawood South Standings, they have a few chances to separate themselves with big games with Assumption, Colby, and Edgar right at the end of the year.

Spencer Rockets
Seed: 8

5-8 Overall 7th Place Cloverbelt East (3-7)
First Round Opponent: Home to #9 Stratford
The Spencer Rockets have a similar story to the Pittsville Panthers from yesterday’s predictions, with 5 wins already this season the Rockets have equaled their win total from the previous two seasons. The Rockets have some winnable games coming up including a home game against Owen-Withee on Tuesday, a trip to Greenwood on Feb. 4th, and hosting Abbotsford to end the regular season.

Stratford Tigers
Seed: 9

4-11 Overall 6th Marawood South (3-8)
First Round Opponent: At #8 Spencer
The Tigers have had a tough time in the Marawood South with five very talented teams they just haven’t been able to break through, but with a 4-11 overall record, they will get credit for the fact that they have been forced into a very difficult schedule. They have a tough end to the season with games at Marathon, home to Auburndale and Assumption to end the season.

Abbotsford Falcons
Seed: 11

2-11 Overall 6th Place Marawood North (1-8)
First Round Opponent: At #6 Necedah
It was another tough year for the Falcon Girls Basketball Team, and an 11 seed most likely awaits them. But at the same time, they do have some winnable games left that could see them move out of the bottom line come seeding day.

Other games in the group:
Regional Quarterfinals
#7 Princeton/Green Lake vs #10 Montello

Regional Semifinals
#1 Westfield vs 8/9 Winner

Eau Claire Memorial Sectional Semifinal
Neillsville Warriors
Seed: 2
12-2 Overall 1st Place Cloverbelt East (9-1)
First Round Opponent: BYE (Host winner of #7 Mondovi vs #10 EC Regis)
The Neillsville Warriors have done almost everything right this year, but alas when you are in a group that includes one of the most dominant Division 4 teams this season in Melrose-Mindoro, you end up as the 2 seed. Neillsville could make a case for the 1 seed with wins at Loyal on Friday night (Watch that game live at onfocus.news/sports) and at Assumption February 4th.

Other games in this group:
Regional Quarterfinal Games
#8 Stanley-Boyd vs #9 Cochrane-Fountain City
#7 Mondovi vs #10 EC Regis
#6 Cadott vs #11 Spring Valley
#5 Durrand vs #12 Whitehall

Regional Semifinal Games
#1 Melrose-Mindoro vs 8/9 Winner
#3 Osseo-Fairchild vs 6/11 Winner
#4 Fall Creek vs 5/12 Winner
