MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – This time of year, we see it all the time. A vehicle is left on the side of the road or even in the ditch during bad weather. Whether it be a breakdown, an accident or any other reason a vehicle would be on the side of the road, the Wisconsin State Patrol is telling drivers not to call it in if there is caution tape draped on the car.

The tape is a way to show that the vehicle has been checked out by a law enforcement employee and is waiting to be towed or removed. Especially during a snow emergency, vehicles can’t always immediately be pulled out of the ditch or taken care of.

Ensure that you are moving over to avoid these cars and being mindful to snow vehicles and emergency personnel during the winter months.
