MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – When Buster, a 12-week old Norwegian Elkhound, was surrendered to Fetch Foster and Rescue after his Femur was broken, he needed an expensive surgery. After learning of Buster’s situation, Kelly Weiler (owner of Weiler Convenience Stores with husband, Wayne) wanted to help.

Weiler worked with Brittany Schueller, Buster’s foster through Fetch Foster and Rescue, to raise funds for the puppy. With help from donations, they raised more than $3,000 for Buster’s surgery.

“The surgeon was able to preform the FHO surgery, allowing him to keep his leg!” said Schueller. “He expects with proper rehabilitation, Buster should have 80-90% of normal motion!”

A month after his surgery, Buster visited Weiler’s Convenience Store this morning to say “thanks” to his helpers.

“It was great to see Buster and learn that he is being adopted by a great family who knows his breed well,” said Weiler. “We are glad we were able to do our part to help this local pup. Thank you to everyone who donated!”

Fetch Foster and Rescue is a non-profit 501-c3 rescue that saves dogs from euthanasia and poor living conditions. All donations are tax deductible! Donate online through the rescue’s website at https://www.fetchfosterandrescue.com/how-to-help
