The first-ever battle in an all state tournament championship-themed OnFocus Athlete of the Week Contest saw a large voter turnout. Earning the title for the top athlete of the week was Alex Singleton of Wauwatosa East, who picked up an impressive 1059 votes.
Also picking up a plethora of votes was Kamari McGee of Racine St. Catherine’s, with 813 votes.
Third place was earned by AJ Hintz and Ashton Janowski of Pewaukee, gaining 526 votes.
A record for a fourth place finisher was Dylan Kuehl of Hustisford, a vote total of 463 votes, good enough to win in most weeks.
Congratulations to the Boys Basketball Championship Teams, and just as important, big kudos go out to fans of all five state champions for turning out in huge numbers to support their team!

- Kamari McGee, Racine St. Catherine’s Boys Basketball – McGee proved to be unstoppable in the Cats’ 68-49 win in the WIAA Division 3 Championship Game. McGee was an efficient 12 of 17 from the floor and had a game-high 26 points in the win.
- AJ Hintz / Ashton Janowski, Pewaukee Boys Basketball – This duo combined for 35 points as Pewaukee claimed the WIAA Division 2 Championship by defeating Onalaska, 54-37. Hintz and Janowski each made three 3-pointers in the title game.
- Alex Singleton, Wauwatosa East Boys Basketball – Singleton had a game-high 20 points as Tosa picked up the WIAA Division 1 Championship by defeating Kimberly, 62-44.
- Dylan Kuehl / Alex Eggleston, Hustisford Boys Basketball – The pair combined for 40 points in Hustisford’s 69-35 WIAA Division 5 Title Game. Kuehl and Eggleston’s dominance in the paint proved to be too much for the Macs to handle.
- Nathan Slagter, Lourdes Academy Boys Basketball – Slagter scored 5 points in Lourdes’ 43-41 win over The Prairie School in the WIAA Division 4 Championship Game. His final two points will go down in Wisconsin history as two of the biggest ever, as his jump hook at the buzzer gave Lourdes the dramatic D4 title. The WIAA Twitter Feed shows it all:
