MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – After a fire ravaged the Snyder 4-H clubhouse last week, the Vesper Fire Department released their findings on the incident. Below is the statement from the department:

“The Vesper Fire Department dispatched at 1:39 a.m. on Oct. 15 to 4290 STH 73, Town of Sigel, Wood County, for a fire at the Snyder 4-H Clubhouse.”

“Upon arrival, [firefighters] found a 12′ by 16′ storage building behind clubhouse fully engulfed in fire and collapsed with fire having spread (5′ separation) to the clubhouse building and entering into the attic. The fire spread through the attic and resulted in a partial collapse of both the roof and ceiling of the clubhouse, leading to the clubhouse being a total loss. Most of Snyder 4-H Club’s records, photos, awards, and memorabilia were salvaged from the clubhouse.”
“Both buildings were unoccupied at the time of the fire. Vesper Fire Dept. was assisted by firefighters from Rudolph, Arpin, Pittsville, and Richfield fire departments along with assistance from Wood County Sheriff’s Dept. & Sheriff’s Rescue. There were no injuries. Monetary value of the loss is undetermined at this time.”
“Cause of the fire is being investigated by the Wood County Sheriff’s Dept.”
