Update on Marshfield Residential Fire

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Fire Department released details on a residential fire which resulted in the loss of a home on Wednesday evening.

According to the release, crews were called to the fire at 7:47 p.m. and upon arrival fire and flames could be seen coming through the windows of the building.

Marshfield Fire and Rescue dispatched two fire engines and one ambulance totaling eight personnel. The release stated that crews used a “transitional attack” to extinguish the fire.

All occupants of the house made it out of the fire but one person suffered from minor smoke inhalation and was treated on-site. Three people in total will be displaced as a result of the fire.

There is heat damage to the first floor and heat and smoke damage to the second floor of the building which is located on the 600 block of West 4th Street in Marshfield.

Assisting departments were Marshfield Police Department, Central RIT, Hewitt Fire Department, Spencer Ambulance, and Wood County dispatch. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
