Two Suspects Flee Marshfield Police After Attempted Traffic Stop

OnFocus – Marshfield Police attempted at traffic stop Wednesday at approximately 11:00am in the City of Marshfield. According to police reports, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and was then abandoned.

A male and female fled the vehicle on foot. A 31 year-old female, who had a valid warrant, was later located and arrested. A 28 year-old male driver was identified but could not be located. The male had outstanding warrants, was on felony bond, and further investigation indicated he may have stolen a handgun. The female was transported to Wood County Jail.

Later, it was learned that while fleeing the officer, the suspect’s vehicle nearly struck a U.S. Postal Service employee who was walking in the roadway during the incident. Charges are being requested through Wood County District Attorney’s Office. The incident is still under investigation.
