MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – A 39-year-old West Allis man was driving West on E. Depot Street when a tree fell onto the man’s car on Sept. 11.

The tree was deemed old and rotted which caused the tree to fall. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured but the vehicle was heavily damaged.

Police responded to the scene and determined that the driver was not at fault as he had no options to avoid the tree. The responding officers did a property check and the land belongs to Canadian National Railroad.

The road was closed and traffic was rerouted for an hour until the tree and vehicle could be removed.
