Superior Legion Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Plover Black Sox fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-1 loss to Superior Legion on Saturday.

Superior Legion took the lead on a single in the second inning. The Plover Black Sox struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Superior Legion, giving up seven runs.
In the first inning, Superior Legion got their offense started. Superior Legion scored one run on a stolen base.

Superior Legion scored three runs in the fifth inning. Superior Legion big bats were led by Dylan Ronchi and Jonny Rhodes, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Mason Stenberg pitched Superior Legion to victory. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. Jayden Hoffmann and Tucker Johnson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Bryce Ehr took the loss for Plover Black Sox. The pitcher lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out six.

Plover Black Sox totaled six hits. Marcus Jaworski and Thomas Hunt all managed multiple hits for Plover Black Sox. Hunt and Jaworski all had two hits to lead Plover Black Sox.

Superior Legion collected nine hits. Rhodes and Gunner Hannsen each managed multiple hits for Superior Legion. Rhodes went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Superior Legion in hits. Superior Legion didn’t commit a single error in the field. George Hansen had the most chances in the field with seven.
