Stratford wins title at Abbotsford Volleyball Invitational; Spencer finishes 1-4

ABBOTSFORD – The Stratford volleyball team went a perfect 5-0, losing just one set, in rolling to the championship at the Abbotsford Invitational on Saturday.

Stratford defeated Spencer 25-8, 25-10; Rosholt 25-9, 28-26; Abbotsford 25-21, 25-8; Chippewa Falls McDonell 25-19, 25-11; and Colby 25-15, 22-25, 15-11; to win the team title.

Mazie Nagel had 37 kills and six service aces, Jadyn Dahlke had 77 assists, and Brooke Petersen had 55 assists for the Tigers.

Spencer went 1-4. The Rockets beat Loyal 25-19, 13-25, 15-10, and in addition to the loss to Stratford, Spencer also fell to McDonell 25-13, 25-19, and to Rosholt twice, 25-13, 25-15, and 25-21, 25-18.

Chloe Drews had 21 kills and six blocks, Carsee Neitzel had 25 digs, Shaelee Neitzel contributed 13 kills and nine digs, and Zalexis Mannigel had 19 assists, 21 digs and eight service aces for Spencer.

Spencer hosts Greenwood and Stratford is at Marathon on Tuesday.
