Stratford girls basketball slips past Marathon in overtime

MARATHON – The Stratford girls basketball team won for the third time in as many tries in the Marawood Conference South Division by defeating Marathon 52-50 in overtime on Tuesday night at Marathon High School.

Blaire Lindner had Stratford’s only basket of the extra period, and the Tigers made 3 of 6 free throws to hold off Marathon.

Kamryn Schueller scored 12 points and Lindner finished with 11 to lead Stratford, which is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Marawood South.

Bradyn Free had 12 points before fouling out late for Marathon (2-3, 1-2 Marawood South).

Stratford plays at Prentice in a Marawood Conference crossover on Friday.
