Stratford boys basketball blows out Newman Catholic to improve to 5-0

STRATFORD – Vaughn Breit made 11 of 14 shots, scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Stratford boys basketball team remained undefeated with a resounding 95-56 win over Wausau Newman Catholic on Thursday night at Stratford High School.

The Tigers racked up 60 points in the first half on their way to their fifth-straight win to start their 2018-19 season.

Teddy Redman added 15 points, Hunter Hannan had 12 points, and Ben Barten chipped in 10 as 11 different Tigers scored in the victory.

Stratford, which remains tied for first place with Auburndale in the Marawood South, plays at Marathon on Thursday.
