Stevens Point Police Arrest 17-Year-Old for Bomb Threat at SPASH

News release – Stevens Point Police Department

On December 18, 2019 at 10:34 a.m., a 17-year-old male was taken into custody concerning threats made on December 18 at 9:09 a.m. to detonate a bomb at Stevens Point Area High School (SPASH). Additionally, charges are being sought on a 15-year-old male for party to the crime.

Early in the investigation, it was determined the threat was not viable. Investigators from the Stevens Point Police Department in conjunction with SPASH Administration were able to locate and take the subject into custody without incident.

Officers continue to follow further leads concerning the threats at Ben Franklin on December 12, and threats made on December 13 at the Stevens Point Area Senior High.

No further information will be released at this time. Investigations continue concerning both locations.
