OnFocus – Now a third-generation company, Sternweis and Sons has witnessed its fair share of community growth in its 49-year history, and this summer is shaping up to be another momentous time.

With Vandehey Waters scheduled to open next month in Marshfield, a new Kwik Trip location going in on the north side, and plenty of residential projects, the local business is keeping busy.

“In the early part of summer, we pour a lot of garage slabs, shed slabs,” said Mary Kollmansberger. “It’s a good feeling helping the community build and grow.”

She added that in 49 years, there has been a lot of progress to witness.

“You see a lot of changes and growth in that time,” she said. “The community has been built up and expanded.”

Kollmansberger enjoys looking back at some of the older projects with which Sternweis & Sons have been involved.

“We’ve poured concrete for quite a few of the schools here, for example,” she said. “It’s fun to drive around and show our kids and grandkids the projects we helped with. It’s a great story to be able to tell them.”

She added that with the price of lumber being so high this year, stamped concrete is a great alternative for patios. For more information, visit www.sternweisandsons.com.
