Spencer baseball remains unbeaten with win at Neillsville

NEILLSVILLE – Spencer pitchers Austin Bacon and Tanner Kleinschmidt combined to finish Neillsville as the Rockets held on for a 7-5 win over Monday in Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball action.

Spencer remains unbeaten this season at 5-0 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. Neillsville drops to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Bacon threw 5 1/3 innings to earn the win, and Kleinschmidt got the final five outs to grab a save.

Kleinschmidt had two RBIs, and Chase Higgins had a pair of hits and scored twice for the Rockets.

Spencer plays at Granton and Neillsville is at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Tuesday.
