Sex Offender Release Bulletin: Town of Sigel, Wood County

On 06/01/97, Wisconsin State Statute §301.45 – the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law came into effect. Prior to this legislation, individuals similar to the one listed in this bulletin, were being released into communities with only law enforcement agencies being notified.

Based on this new law, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Department of Corrections and in conjunction with the Wood County Sex Offender Classification Review Team, is authorized to provide the following information to select areas of the community. Based on this law, neighbors, schools, and businesses in the vicinity of the residence of this offender are being notified via this bulletin.

Effective July 22, 2020 the subject below will be residing at 5055 Knuth Rd, in the town of Sigel:

Burk was convicted of Five counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Possession of Child Pornography, two counts of Child Sexploitation-Videos/Records, Child Enticement-Take Pictures, and Felony Bail Jumping in 1992, in Marathon County.

Offender Summary:

Burk has been designated as a Level 3 Sex Offender. This is the highest classification of notification level in so far as a potential threat or danger to the community at large. The criminal history involving the convictions of Burk indicates he offended against minor females who were related to him, acquaintances and strangers. The offending behavior included use of alcohol, use of vehicle, videos, recordings, pornography and use of restraints.

Burk will be residing at 5055 Knuth Rd. in the town of Sigel. He has a lifetime GPS monitor, which is in place.
