Second Person Dies After HWY V and HWY H Collision

Marshfield (OnFocus) – A second person has died after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County HWY H and County HWY V on August 13, in the Township of Lincoln.

Sheriff Deputies, Lincoln Fire, Lincoln First Responders and Marshfield Ambulance responded to the scene. Upon initial investigation, a SUV traveling southbound on Cth V failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign to a westbound pickup truck on Cth H.

The driver of the SUV, Rita Davis (35) of Westby, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by the Wood County Coroner. The driver of the pickup truck, David Appleyard (58) of Neillsville, was medically transported after the accident in critical condition. He died at the hospital on August 16. There were no reported passengers in either vehicle.
