Search Continues Today for Missing Man on Lake DuBay

Marathon County (OnFocus) – On Friday August 21, 2020, at approximately 6:23 pm, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division received a report of a missing male subject in Lake Dubay.

Communications Center was told a 21 year-old male jumped from a boat and did not return to the surface. At the time of the call, the reporting party advised the male subject could not swim and had been under water for approximately five minutes.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office Recreational Deputies were patrolling Lake Dubay and responded and marked the male subjects last known location in the water. The Marathon County Dive Team responded in an attempt to recover the victim. Due to the threat of incoming storms and time of night, the search for the victim was suspended until this morning.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted at the scene by the Mosinee Fire/EMS Department, MEDIVAC Helicopter from Aspirus Wausau Hospital and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

The name of the victim will not be released at this time and will be released 24 hours after proper notification of the victim’s family.
