The Washington Monument was the canvas for a 363-foot, life-sized projection of a Saturn V rocket on Tuesday night in Washington D.C. to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 launch and moon landing.

The Saturn V rocket launched astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins to space on July 16, 1969.

The display will return Wednesday and Thursday nights.
