MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Rotary Winter Wonderland is excited to announce a special “Pop-Up” Light Show to help our community during a time of urgent need. For three nights only — Friday, November 21; Saturday, November 22; and Sunday, November 23 — the lights at Rotary Winter Wonderland will shine early to collect much-needed food and monetary donations for local pantries.

This early opening comes in response to an urgent call for help from local food pantries, which are facing critically low supplies ahead of the holiday season. All food and cash donations collected during these three “pop-up” nights will be shared equally with St. Vincent de Paul and Soup or Socks to help restock their shelves and support families in need throughout the Marshfield area.

“This early opening comes at a crucial time, as the demand for food assistance has risen sharply due to recent changes in SNAP benefits and the added financial strain many families face during the holiday season”, said Laura Mae Kueffer of the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. “The proceeds and donations from Winter Wonderland help ensure that families in our community do not have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table.”

“We are honored to support the vital work of St. Vincent DePaul and Soup or Socks,” said Danielle Nystrom, of the Rotary Winter Wonderland Committee. Fortunately, the buildout of our display was completed two weeks ahead of schedule. By opening a little early, we hope to bring some light—literally and figuratively—to those who need it most. Every can of food, every dollar donated makes a real difference.”

The full Rotary Winter Wonderland regular season will still kick off as planned on Friday, November 28, offering the same beloved holiday magic and community spirit visitors have come to enjoy.
