One Hour Per Week Volunteer Needed to Help with Landscaping/Gardening

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Attention, green thumbs! The Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield is in need of a volunteer gardener to help with weed landscaping and managing two raised garden beds. Replanting appropriate plants may also be needed at times.

“Our yard and landscaping is the first impression for our families as they arrive to Ronald McDonald House, often stressed and overwhelmed,” said Iilee Pederson, Executive Director. “We want our House to be a welcoming and well-kept first impression.”

Ronald McDonald House is located across from Marshfield Medical Center at 803 W North Street and provides free lodging and meals for families needing assistance while their child is in the hospital.

“Our families are encouraged to utilize our outdoor spaces as a place of respite,” added Pederson. “After long hours within the Hospital walls, fresh air and beautiful flowers can be a source of peace and relaxation.”

The time commitment for a garden volunteer is about one hour per week. If interested, please contact Ronald McDonald House at [email protected] or call 715-387-5899 during the hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday.
