City Communicates OnFocus – Ordinance Officer Dan Leonard retired after serving the city of Marshfield for over 28 years. Police Chief Rick Gramza recognized him at the city council meeting on July 10, 2018.

“I don’t believe there is a more well-known person in our community than Dan Leonard,” said Gramza. “My wife often accuses me of knowing too many people. I think Dan knows all of the people and they all know Dan.”

“I don’t think many of them know his last name. I usually call him ‘Dan, Dan the Ordinance Man,’ but in the end we have been blessed with Dan to be a very hard worker within our department.”

“I am humbled by that,” said Leonard. “And I’d like to say before I forget, thank you all for your support and the people that I’ve worked with, and people I’ve known from the city, the officers from past and present, it was an honor to work for the city. I enjoyed it very much and it actually was a job that, when you look back on it, I never thought it would be that much fun, but it was.”

In retirement, Dan will continue to offer dog training and will be assisting the police department in picking a replacement for one of the K9 units that will be retiring.
