Submitted to OnFocus – This Saturday, January 23rd, Powers Bluff County Park gates will be open from 9am-4pm for individuals and families that would like to get outside and explore the multi-use trails within the 380 acre park. Snowshoe rentals will be available, along with hot chocolate and other limited concessions. Masks are required when in the shelter building and restrooms.
The groomed multi-use trail is open for use with snowshoes, fat-tire bikes, and cross country skis. Boot traffic and pets are not allowed on groomed trails. Trail passes are required and can be purchased at the concession area, at the trail head self-registration kiosk, or from the Parks and Forestry Office. Trail passes are included in snowshoe rental fees. Snow shoe rental fees are $10 anytime from 9am – 4pm.
The snow tubing and ski hills remain closed due to insufficient snow. Although the ski hill remains closed to skiing and snowboarding, we are allowing the public to bring their own sleds and enjoy the ski hill with sleds. Sledding is not allowed on the tube hill. The tow line will not be operating, and staff will not be present on the hill. Sledding is at your own risk.
As a reminder, the multi-use trail can be accessed 7 days a week when the park gates are closed, by going to the trail head parking lot at 7141 County Highway N, Arpin.
All snowmobile trails remain closed.
The Richfield 360 County Forest multi-use trails, and Nepco Lake County Park ski trails have all been packed, but tracks have not been set for inline skiing.
For more information, call the Parks and Forestry office any time between 8am – 4pm, M-F. For information regarding parks, shelters and camping reservations, visit our website or find us on Facebook!
