Conference outlook

Newman is going to be very solid again as they return a good chunk of players who won the state title last year. Almond is going to be tough as they have numerous skill guys returning. Marion/Tigerton is always physical and has a great front line returning. Tri-County continues to improve and Bowler/Gresham returns their QB and a host of skill players. Should be a solid league up and down.

Keys to your success on offense

We need to use our versatility in our skill athletes and strength of our returning line to have our offense succeed. If we can get consistent effort up front and get our skill guys in open space, it will help our team.

Keys to your success on defense

We would like to bring as many hats to the ball as we can. We want everyone to be a part of the play and not take any plays off. If we can create turnovers and get stops, that will help our team.

Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed?

Our middle school coaches have done a great job preparing kids with a good foundation of football knowledge so that when we get them at the high school level, we don’t have to reteach much. Paul Liebherr has been a great addition to our staff as well the past few years and Eric Leverence continues to be a volunteer coach who puts a lot of time and effort into our program. We are a players program and we do a lot more than teach kids how to be great football players.

What is your football program all about? How do you measure success?

Our team and program loves to win games, but if we lose, we take the time to learn and correct mistakes we made. We always aim to make the playoffs and win when it counts in the postseason. We have a great group of student-athletes that learn a lot about life and how to be a good human being. We measure our success based on how well we raise our players to not only be good football players, but members of our community as well.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?

Thank you to our amazing support system of donors again this season! Come out and watch a 4pm football game before the other surrounding schools play at 7pm!
