OnFocus Team of the Week, January 10 – January 16

Marshfield (OnFocus) – Great performances from area athletes deserve to be celebrated. Check out some of the top performers for this past week, and be sure to vote for the top performer!

OnFocus Team of the Week Nominees, Week of January 10 – January 16:

• Auburndale Boys Basketball – The Eagles have won 5 games in a row, winning Marawood Conference games this week over Newman (71-53) and Assumption (75-46). The Eagles are tied with Edgar at 6-1 for the conference lead, and are 10-2 overall.
• Assumption Girls Basketball –  The Royals have won five Marawood Conference games in a row, vaulting to within a game of first place. Assumption picked up wins over Marathon, 85-45, and a 51-44 win over Auburndale.
• Medford Girls Hockey – Medford turned in a dominating performance on Saturday, as they crushed Houghton/Hancock, MI in a doubleheader by scores of 8-0. Sophia Brunner led the charge in the first game for the Red Raiders, scoring 3 goals in the win. Karli Higgens lead the way in the second game with 3 goals and an assist.
• Athens Girls Basketball – The Blue Jays picked up two Marawood wins this week, improving to 6-3 in the Marawood North and solidifying their hold on second place. Athens defeated Rib Lake 65-34 and after trailing by 13 in the second half, fought back to edge Abbotsford, 64-62.
• Mosinee Girls Basketball – Mosinee has taken over the top spot in the Great Northern Conference with a 6-1 record. The Indians won twice this week, 54-38 over Lakeland and 44-31 over Antigo.
