Police Reports: Woman Acting Like Deer, Intoxication Arrests

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – July 13

A 53-year-old Marshfield man contacted police and reported a male sleeping on the ground outside of the Marshfield Public Library. Officers arrived, woke the male, and spoke to the male who had an open bottle of alcohol in plain view. The male verbally provided a name that could not be located in local records but stated he was from out of state. The male left the property. On 7-22-21 the same male was taken into custody for a different case and identified as a 39-year-old homeless Marshfield male. Charges for Obstructing an Officer and Bail Jumping will be requested through the Wood Co DA’s Office.

July 15

Pick ‘n Save Pharmacy reported they had received forged prescriptions on 07/15/21. Pick ‘n Save did not dispense the prescriptions. Upon further investigation, the phone number provided by the doctor’s office was a virtual number and the address for the patient was a residence currently for sale. The phone number provided for the alleged patient was called numerous times but no contact was made.

July 16

A 19-year-old Marshfield man reported a wooden utility pole struck down around the 1600 block of Maple Ave. in Marshfield. During the investigation it appeared a blue colored vehicle struck the pole as blue paint chips were observed at the crash scene. A vehicle was located at a nearby apartment complex with front end damage containing matching paint and various wood chips stuck within the front fender. Contact was later made with the registered owner of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Marshfield female who admitted to driving earlier on in the evening, striking the pole and failing to contact law enforcement. Citations issued.

July 17

Complainant reported that a physical incident had occurred between a staff member and a bar patron. It was reported that the bar patron, a 21-year-old Marshfield man had struck the staff member then left. Police later made contact with the 21-year-old man. The Marshfield man was arrested, transported to Marshfield PD for booking, then later released to a responsible party.

July 18

An officer reported that he observed a heated argument between two highly intoxicated males. Officers made contact with the men and it was determined that one man lived in the trailer park and the other man did not. Initially, the man that did not live there was warned for his behavior and was told to leave, but he refused to leave and began to yell profanities in front of multiple other people, including children. When officers took the man into custody the man resisted and had to be carried to the police car. Contact was made with probation and parole and a hold was placed on the man. The man was transported to the Wood County Jail and charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.

A 30-year-old Marshfield woman reported an unknown male making entry into her residence. The woman confronted this person and he ultimately left. The male was found a short time later, and identified as a 22-year-old Marshfield male. The male was transported to the MMC ER, then to the Wood County Jail. Charges of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of THC and misdemeanor bail jumping will be forwarded to the Wood County DA’s office.

A 48-year-old Marshfield woman reported her 62-year-old mother was intoxicated and not eating. Contact was made with the 62-year-old who was intoxicated and in possession of alcohol which is a violation of three of her Clark County bonds. The female was medically cleared and transported to the Clark County Jail.

July 19

The Marshfield Police Department is conducting an investigation into multiple Facebook Posts in regards to interactions between members of the public to establish if any criminal conduct occurred. investigation is ongoing. Update: Through the investigation it was found that a male was soliciting for money in a persistent manner but at this time no criminal activity was found.

A 31-year-old Rhinelander male called police and reported that another resident at the motel was crawling on her hands and knees, scampering about like a deer (on all fours) and growling at people. The man indicated the woman was acting like a witch. Other independent witnesses were spoken to, who confirmed seeing the same behavior. Officers were able to identify the woman as a 29-year-old Marshfield woman. The woman displayed several indicators of methamphetamine intoxication. A consent search / Act 79 search was done and nothing was located. Probation was contacted and placed a hold on the woman. The Wood County Jail indicated they would not accept the woman. This matter is being forwarded to P&P for their information.

July 20

A 50-year-old Marshfield man reported a Stihl weed trimmer was taken from the cemetery grounds while mowing operations were taking place. CCTV will be reviewed at a later date to determine if any suspects are visible.

July 21

A local company was a victim of a phishing scam and the payroll for an employee was sent to a fraudulent account. Investigation to continue.

Marshfield Medical Center Security requested officers to respond and help remove a disorderly visitor. Upon arrival officers were able to get the 61-year-old female to remove herself from the property. The female was given a verbal warning and was trespassed from the facility.

A 46-year-old Marshfield male reported items in his residence disturbed. A 35-year-old woman was identified as a suspect. Investigation to continue.

July 22

Fleet Farm Loss Prevention called to report an active retail theft in which the man was walking away from the parking lot after he had concealed the listed items. The man was located at the corner of Sawyer/Kalsched and was taken into custody. After booking procedures for this case and a previous incident the 39-year-old man was transported to Wood County Jail for charges and warrants. Charges referred to Wood County District Attorney’s office for Retail theft, obstructing an officer, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

A complainant reported her neighbors across the street were involved in a physical altercation and a knife was involved. As a result of the investigation a 22-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for battery (domestic related), disorderly conduct (domestic related) and misdemeanor bail jumping. The male was then transported to the Wood County Jail.

A 42-year-old Marshfield man created a disturbance at the Woodfield Inn and damaged a window. The male fled the area prior to officers arrival, but officers later located him and took him into custody. The man was transported to the to the WOSO Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.

An 87-year-old Marshfield male stated a small concrete statue of a boy and girl sitting on bench was stolen from his back yard. The man described it to be about 18″ long and about 24″ tall. The man was unable to provide any possible suspects.

A 62-year-old Marshfield male contacted police after he noticed that somebody had intentionally caused damaged to his truck. It appeared an unknown person used a key or similar object to scratch a line into the paint around the entire truck. The man did not know exactly when the damage occurred, but believed it happened during the evening hours while the vehicle was parked at the residence. There are no suspects at this time.
