May 14
The complainant reported that last Thursday she had noticed there was inappropriate graffiti, spray painted on the walls of the viaduct. While the officer was taking pictures of the damages another passerby said the inappropriate chalk graffiti was newer than the spray paint. The city street department and parks and recreation were contacted in regards to the damages.
On May 14, a detached garage was on fire at the above location. Nobody was injured. Marshfield Fire Department is investigating.
May 15
A Marshfield male was involved in a rollover crash on his ATV. The male was transported to MMC. An officer had taken photos of the crash scene and ATV. Deputy Leigh will be assisting in writing an ATV citation for the driver. The male was also told to complete a DNR ATV Crash Self Report Form.
May 17
A 32-year-old Colby woman reported that her husband, a 31-year-old Vesper male from whom she is separated, followed her to her place of employment and refused to leave. The woman left the scene to avoid further conflict, but found a note on the business door entrance written by the male intended for the woman’s boss. The male was advised any further contact with the female at her place of employment would result in a harassment citation or stalking charge.
A 32-year-old Marshfield woman contacted police to report that she received a letter from her ex-husband, who is not to have contact with her. The letter contained threatening language and was collected as evidence. Officers made contact with the Jackson Correctional Institute and made them aware of the issue. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.
A 39-year-old Marshfield woman requested assistance with a welfare check at a Marshfield residence. During this time, a 45-year-old Marshfield man arrived and created a disturbance in the parking lot. Officers contacted the man and at his residence and he was taken into custody. The man was transported to the Wood County Jail and charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
Officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving a male and female. Upon contact it was determined that they just had a verbal argument and were not in fear of each other. The female referenced that she was having thoughts of harming herself but was not going to act on it. The female agreed to call back if anything changed and a safety plan was set up with the male.
May 18
Officers were requested to assist Marshfield Clinic Security after a 12-year-old male walked away from the clinic facility after making suicidal threats. The juvenile was detained, assessed, and turned over to a family friend after he calmed down. The juvenile stated the suicidal comments were made out of frustration and he has no intention of harming himself. A juvenile referral for disorderly conduct, obstructing, and criminal damage to property will be submitted.
May 19
A 56-year-old Marshfield male reported 112 of his Lorazepam pills went missing from his home. The man advised that he was transported to Marshfield Medical Center on 5/17/2021 and noticed them missing when he got back on 5/19/2021. The man stated the door to his room was locked when he returned from the hospital.
An employee at a local store reported an unknown male purchased two pairs of shoes from the business. The male paid for the shoes using two counterfeit $100 bills. The staff did not realize the bills were counterfeit until later the following day. CCTV captured video of the male and efforts are ongoing to identify him. The bills were taken as evidence and an investigation is ongoing. No further involvement.
A parole officer wished for officers to make contact with a 24-year-old Marshfield male who had an active felony probation warrant. Officers located the male subject and took him into custody without incident.
An employee from a local business reported that they located a wallet with personal identification and debit/credit cards inside of it. Officers attempted to make contact with the 52-year-old male. Items were placed into evidence for safe keeping.
A 37-year-old Marshfield man reported that he heard a loud crash and car horn. He checked his front yard and observed that his mailbox was destroyed. He stated that he observed taillights on a vehicle heading eastbound from the listed address after the crash. There were tire marks leading up to the mailbox post, which was also destroyed. The surrounding area was checked by officers prior to arrival and afterwards. He did not have any potential suspects and did not believe it was intentional.
