2.27.20 1129
A Spencer woman reported that her husband’s vehicle was struck while it was unoccupied and legally parked on West 4th Street near Chestnut. She stated the incident occurred while she was at work. An officer took photographs of the vehicle and drove around the area of the incident to see if any buildings had video cameras, but found none for that specific area. There is no suspect vehicle(s) at this time.

2.28.20 1953
The on-duty loss prevention officer at Walmart contacted police in reference to a retail theft. A 22-year-old Marshfield male fled on foot when security attempted to stop him. Officers later located the male walking in the 500 block of N. Maple Ave. A probation hold was placed on the male. Charges will be requested through the Marathon County DA’s office for felony bail jumping and retail theft. A citation was issued to the male for trespassing. The male was transported to the Marathon County Jail.

2.29.20 1357
A 44-year-old Marshfield woman contacted police after a 31-year-old Marshfield man made threats towards her. The man had been contacting the woman and his estranged wife trying to get his wife to meet with him. When the wife refused to meet, the man threatened to kill the complainant. Officers were unable to locate the man, but extra patrol is being provided. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.

2.29.20 1800
A 31-year-old male was sending the victim text messages that he was going to kill or hurt her family and friends if she did not meet up with him. He also stated he was watching her and threatened to burn the house down. The 31-year-old male was taken into custody in Wisconsin Rapids and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested with Wood County DA.

2.29.20 2113
Crash reported on S. Central Ave. north of E. 8th Street. A vehicle was westbound on 8th Street and stopped for the stop sign at Central Ave. A second vehicle was northbound on Central Ave. approaching 8th Street. The westbound vehicle was “inching out” to try to see if the intersection was clear, and did not see unit 2 when it began to turn northbound. The northbound vehicle tried to swerve to the west to avoid a crash while also trying to stop. The westbound vehicle struck the northbound vehicle, causing damage. The northbound vehicle was disabled due to damage.

3.1.20
A 22-year-old Marshfield male was arrested in the area of N. Peach Ave and E. Ives St. for a probation violation. The male was medically cleared, completed booking procedures, and was transported to the Wood County Jail.

3.1.20 0427
A 34-year-old Marshfield woman called 911 to report an ongoing disturbance with her boyfriend who she resides with. Police investigated the incident and arrested the boyfriend for multiple domestic offenses. He was booked and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County D.A.’s office.

3.2.20 1007
A Marshfield employee reported that a company van trailer had been stolen from a Citgo gas station in Mooresville, NC. He stated the truck driver dropped the empty trailer last Thursday, which was locked, and went there the morning of 3/2 to pick it up and it was gone. He stated there is a live tracking on the trailer and that it first started moving on 3/2 at 0718. The trailer has been entered as stolen and an ATL was sent out to NC and SC.

3.2.20 1305
A Marshfield man reported to police that his son, a 41-year-old Marshfield man, left the residence on foot and had an outstanding warrant. An officer responded to the location and found the man walking on Waushara near Palmetto. The officer placed the man under arrest. He was transported to MMC ER for medical clearance due to his level of intoxication. After medical clearance he was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for Retail Theft, Bail Jumping and Resisting.

3.3.20 1318
It was reported through Marshfield Utilities that a 61-year-old Marshfield woman had a high water output in her residence. It was reported that workers could not make contact with the woman. Officers were able to make contact so that Marshfield Utilities workers could enter the home and look at the plumbing issues.

3.3.20 1500
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office requested mutual aid regarding a traffic accident at State Highway 97 and Galvin. Officer assisted with requesting paramedics, traffic control, and taking photographs.

3.5.20 0055
Officers responded to a loud noise complaint and made contact with a 44-year-old female. The female was intoxicated in violation of Probation rules and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The female was taken into custody and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges were requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
