Police Reports: Truck Drives Through Hamus Park Leaving Damage

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – October 25

A complainant reported that her vehicle was legally parked and unoccupied in a parking stall at a local store. The complainant said a red pickup truck was parked next to her. The complainant said they found red paint transfer and damage on her vehicle when they left the store. The complainant said they spoke to a sales associate who said that there could be video of the incident. An officer spoke with loss prevention management and it was determined that they will attempt to locate any video of a possible crash in the parking lot with this vehicle. At the time of this report no video evidence has been located.

November 1

A 56-year-old McMillan man reported a semi truck/trailer had driven into Hamus Park and attempted to tum around on the lawn which caused several ruts. The event was captured by on-sight security cameras. which showed the name of the trucking company responsible. Follow up to continue.

A complainant reported that his 14-year-old daughter had left their home after an argument. The juvenile female soon returned home. Wood County human services was contacted in reference to the incident.

November 3

A 61-year-old Marshfield woman was taken into custody on a Marathon County warrant for failing to appear on a criminal traffic citation, The woman was brought to the department until family members arrived to post bond. She was given a new court date and released.

A victim reported that a verbal altercation occurred which made her fear for her safety. During the altercation the male used vulgar words directed to the victim, and at one point grabbed a phone and threw it. Also multiple items were knocked off of tables by the male. Contact was made with the male a 23-year-old Marshfield male, he was taken into custody and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges for Disorderly Conduct will be sent to the Wood County D.A.

A 38-year-old Marshfield woman reported a vehicle speeding and cutting other vehicles off. Officers later observed this vehicle and during an investigation, the operator, a 36-year-old Spencer man, was subsequently arrested for OWI 1st offense. Open intoxicants and suspected marijuana were also seized. Citations were issued for these respective offenses and the male was later released to a sober person.

A 23-year-old Marshfield female went to the emergency room and wanted documentation in regards to a physical disturbance that had occurred on 10/29/2021 at a Marshfield residence. An officer took a statement and took photographs. This incident did not meet criteria for an arrest. This report was forwarded to the Wood County District’s Attorney’s Office due to a similar case involving the same parties.

November 4

A 35-year-old Stratford woman reported her husband, was causing a disturbance at a local bar. Upon arrival the man failed to comply with officer’s orders and was taken into custody. The woman informed officers that the man had entered the establishment and caused a disturbance which caused her to become fearful of him. The man was transported to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

The complainant called 9-1-1 regarding an altercation between her mother and father. Dispatch could hear yelling between two parties over the telephone. The complainant advised her father, a 52-year-old Marshfield male left the house prior to officers arriving on scene. The complainant advised her father was intoxicated and made suicidal comments prior to leaving. The male party was located outside of the residence and taken into custody without incident. A request for charges for domestic related disorderly conduct is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
