Police Reports: Situation Diffused, Shoplifting

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – December 4

An unidentified female, approximately 5’07’, mid 40s, with dark hair possibly with maroon highlights, and driving a gray Chevrolet Impala or similar style vehicle, was in Walmart and attempted to leave the store without paying for numerous items in a cart. When confronted by employees the female abandoned the cart of items and continued to her vehicle and left the area. Upon reviewing the female’s activity in the store it was discovered that she selected two item belonging to the store totaling $30.72 and proceeded to return them for cash using a receipt she had from a previous visit. Police are attempting to identify the female suspect.

A Marshfield resident reported her father was in mental distress and reported that he was seeing people that were not there and threatening to kill them with firearms he possessed. After 26 hours, the male was safely taken into custody and transported to Winnebago Mental Health. Charges for failure to comply with officers attempt to take person into custody will be directed to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.

The manager of a Marshfield property that is listed for sale noticed the garage service door was open. The door had evidence that unknown suspect had kicked in the door as there were foot impressions. The door jam and trim was damaged. The manager checked the garage and various valuable items were still in the garage. The door was secured by the property manager. No signs of forced entry to the residence.
