Police Reports: Rollover Accident on Peach, Marshfield Stabbing

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – September 7

A complainant reported being harassed by a 46-year-old Marshfield man. Police investigated the incident. The 46-year-old man admitted to contacting the complainant. Both the Marshfield man and the complainant have a no-contact order through a different state. Witnesses confirmed the complainant’s reports to police. Charges are being forwarded to the Marathon County District attorney’s office. Taped report to follow.

September 8

A staff member at a local company reported finding the rear passenger side window of his company van was shattered while parked in the driveway at a residence sometime during the overnight hours. It is unknown at this time how the window was damaged. No further involvement.

September 9

A mother of a 23-year-old Marshfield female called stating her daughter reported to her that she was possibly assaulted/strangled by a 30-year-old Marshfield male. Officers made contact with the daughter and investigation is to continue. See report for further details.

September 10

Marathon County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of Marshfield Officers with the recovery of a stolen vehicle. Deputies had located the stolen vehicle on a remote property and observed a person in the vehicle. Deputies also contacted another subject that had a valid Marshfield PD warrant for his arrest. A brief standoff ensued, but the subject that was in the stolen vehicle was also taken into custody for a warrant. Investigation to continue.

September 11

Park Patrol Officer Stankowski located new damage inside the men’s bathroom at Wildwood Park. Damage included was a mirror that was torn off the wall and damage to one of the urinals that will need to be replaced. At this time there are no suspects.

September 12

A 21-year-old Marshfield man was taken by ambulance to Marshfield Medical Center after a rollover accident. The man was traveling northbound on North Peach Avenue near the intersection of East Franklin Street at around 6:40 a.m. when he struck a curb and mailbox. The road curved and the man failed to turn. The vehicle traveled into a yard on Peach Ave. where it caused damage and proceeded to travel into a second yard. As it went through the second yard, the vehicle struck a tree, and caused damage to the yard, a flower bed and some flower ornaments. The car went through two more yards on Peach Ave. hitting multiple trees and doing yard damage in the process before coming to rest. The vehicle appeared to have rolled multiple times. The man was found unconscious and ejected from the vehicle. The man was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and will ultimately be charged with 2nd offense OWI, reckless driving, operating while revoked, and possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. The man was transported to Marshfield Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.

September 13

Officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance between a male and female. Following a preliminary investigation a 22-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for multiple domestic related charges. During arrest the male was found to be in possession of multiple illegal drugs. The male was ultimately transported to the Wood County Jail for the domestic and drug charges along with a probation hold.

A 32-year-old Spencer male reported that he was stabbed. Officers contacted the male at St. Joseph Avenue/Blodgett Street and he had a stab wound to his face. He was transported to Marshfield Medical Center by EMS for his injuries. After further investigation it was discovered that the male was in an altercation with a 34-year-old Marshfield female where he was the primary aggressor. The female stated that the male attacked her and she used the knife to protect herself. The male was arrested and later transported to Wood County Jail after being medically cleared. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for Domestic Abuse related Battery, Strangulation, and Bail Jumping.

September 14

An 18-year-old Marshfield female reported that her ex-boyfriend was stating he was en-route to her residence, while she was not home and she did not want him there. The female stated he would be driving a black, white, and red Honda motorcycle. The male suspect had two felony warrants for his arrest. While Officers were at the residence, the suspect motorcycle drove by. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the motorcycle and the suspect accelerated to speeds of approximately 100 mph. The pursuit was immediately terminated. An ATL was sent out to the surrounding counties. Officers attempted to contact the suspect by phone with no success. Investigation to continue.

Officers responded to a report of a retail theft suspect fleeing from Walmart Loss Prevention Employees. The 38-year-old male suspect was located by officers and taken into custody for felony retail theft. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to the Marathon County Jail. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.

A 54-year-old Marshfield man called the department to report a stolen vehicle from his business. Contact was made at the listed address with the complainant and his son, a 23-year-old Marshfield male, who was the suspect. The male admitted to taking the vehicle, but did not know its current whereabouts. The male was ultimately arrested and during search incident to arrest illegal items were located. The male was transported to Marathon County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office for operate without owners’ consent, possession of methamphetamine, bail jumping, and resisting/obstructing an officer.

September 15

A 22-year-old Marshfield male came to the Police Department to report an incident between him and his girlfriend, an 18-year-old Marshfield female. When asked about the incident he stated he didn’t want her to get into trouble and he would not provide any type of specifics as to what took place. I called and spoke to the girlfriend and she stated there have been incidents of abuse for the last month but she also would not provide any specifics as she stated she did not want him to get into any trouble. She only stated she did not want him coming back to the apartment . He agreed to go and stay at his mother’s. Both were encouraged to return and report the incidents.

September 16

A 31-year-old Marshfield woman reported her 31 year-old ex-boyfriend was in violation of their no contact order. Officer confirmed this violation and the male was taken into custody. The male was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance and later to the Wood County Jail. Bail Jumping charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

Officers were requested to the 1600 block of N. Jean Ave. due to an extremely intoxicated man passed out in a residence. Officers arrived and recognized the man and knew him to be on bond with a rule of absolute sobriety. The man was transported to MMC ER for medical clearance and was then transported to Wood County Jail.
