Police Reports: Phone Scams, Disorderly Conduct, Another Catalytic Converter Stolen

May 7

Marshfield Medical Center security staff requested police for assistance with a 43-year-old Marshfield male who was creating a disturbance and making threats. After resisting with officers the male was taken into custody and transported to the Wood Co Jail. Charges of Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, Threats to a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Bail Jumping will be requested through the Wood Co DA’s Office. A probation hold was also placed on the male.

A local gas station employee reported a intentional gas drive off. The suspect was observed on video exiting the vehicle and pumping fuel without using a credit card. The suspect then re-entered the vehicle and left the business making no attempt to purchase the fuel inside the business. Suspect vehicle was a four door truck with a custom hood scoop. Suspect was described as early 20s white male, wearing a tan jacket, nothing further.

A 32-year-old Marshfield female stated that her ex-husband, a 32-year-old Marshfield male has been violating their no-contact order. It was confirmed that the male has attempted 16 phone calls from within the Jackson Correctional Institution. Charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office. A traffic stop was conducted at the 1100 block of Central Ave. An odor of marijuana was detected from within the vehicle. Suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located and the driver, a 20-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for Possession of THC and Drug Paraphernalia. Male was booked and released at Marshfield Police Department. Charges will be sent to Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

May 9

A complainant reported that she was physically assaulted outside of a bar. Police responded, investigation to continue. Taped report to follow.

A patient at Marshfield Medical Center hit a 58-year-old employee in the arm and spit on his head. Charges will be forwarded to Wood County DA.

A child custody issue was reported. Police contacted both parties. Each party agreed to a short term custody arrangement. One party violated the agreed arrangement. Taped report to follow.

May 10

A 27-year-old Marshfield man was arrested on a valid Marathon County warrant during a traffic stop. He was transported to the Marshfield PD for booking procedures and was released after posting bond.

A victim reported he received an email at his work in regards to a co-worker asking for assistance and during that conversation gift cards were purchased and the Email was found to be fraudulent. Currently the Victim is out the money for the gift cards.

A victim reported she received a phone call and a female spoke to her in regards to an amazon order and during that conversation the victim gave personal information to include last four numbers for her social security and date of birth, after that information was given the victim ended the phone call. The victim notified her bank and had account numbers changed and was given information to check her credit report. At this time the information has not been used without her consent.

A 73-year-old Arpin man reported when he got home from his stay at MMC, he found that his prescription medication was missing. The victim said he refused to lock up the medication when requested and kept it in his room. The victim said he left his room multiple times during his stay for tests. In speaking with the care team they advised the medication was never seen by staff and he asked for a prescription of the same type of missing medication before he was discharge and knew that it was missing.

A 38-year-old Marshfield female reported her prescription medication was either stolen or misplaced. The woman could not remember where she was when she noticed them missing. The woman does not have any suspects. PDMP form completed.

A 74-year-old Marshfield man reported that within the last few days his truck was parked in front of his shop at Wick Building Systems and the catalytic converter was removed from it. The man stated he did have a potential suspect. See report for further details.

May 11

An anonymous complainant reported a 20-year-old Marshfield man at the above location with a valid warrant. Officers located the man and he was placed under arrest. Following booking procedures he was transported to the Wood County Jail.

A Marshfield female reported a verbal altercation between a male and female occurring at an adjacent apartment. Officers made contact with the male and female in the adjacent apartment. Both parties were placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to the Police Department for booking procedures. Following booking procedures, both parties were released and the male party agreed to separate for the night.

A victim reported that on Facebook he made contact with a person with the screen name of James Taylor who said he had tickets to a concert in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The victim used Facebook Messenger to arrange payment and exchange through PayPal. The victim sent the money but never received the tickets. The profile has now been deleted and unable to be located on Facebook. At this time the suspect is unknown. An Email of [email protected] was used also but no response has been made from that account.

An 85-year-old Marshfield woman reported a found bike inside the woods of Braem Park near hole #12 of the disc golf course. The bike had a City of Eau Claire license tag but Eau Claire PD did not have record of it. The bike was later logged into evidence and stored in impound.

A victim reported that a fence rail was taken without his consent. There are no suspects and the area was checked for the fence rail. The rail is an 8-foot rough-cut style. Extra Patrol is requested for the area.

May 12

On May 12, Spencer Police Department requested assistance with a pursuit they were involved in with a vehicle. While officers were responding, the vehicle went into a field and briefly eluded officers. Marshfield officers used a drone to check the area where the vehicle was believed to be hiding, but the drone showed the vehicle was no longer in that area. Officers and deputies were able to locate where the vehicle exited the field and was damaged in the process. Officers and deputies were able to track leaking fluid to where the vehicle was abandoned in another field, but the driver had fled the area. Officers and deputies assisted Spencer PD K9 with a track of the suspect, but the suspect was not located.

A 24-year-old Marshfield woman received a Facebook message that she was eligible for $30,000.00 and all she had to do was send $300.00 in gift cards and pay an additional $500.00 for tax fees. The woman did send the gift card codes but did not have the funds to send the additional $500.00. The woman was advised that it was a scam and not to send any more money or provide any personal information. No further action taken.

May 13

Probation and Parole called 911 to report a 40-year-old client was creating a disturbance at a local office. When the man was informed he was being placed under a probation hold he became highly agitated and out of control. He was placed in handcuffs without incident and then made threats towards his probation agent. The man was transported to Wood County Jail on the probation hold and charges.

A 55-year-old Marshfield man contacted police to report that he believed a 42-year-old Marshfield woman stole money from his apartment while she was cleaning it. The man provided a witness that he stated saw the suspect with the missing money. Officers spoke with the witness and found that were many inconsistencies between what the man reported to officers and what the man had told her. Officers spoke with the suspect and she denied taking the money. See report.
