Marshfield Police Department Reports
7.31.19: A 29-year-old female was taken into custody in the 500 block of W Depot St for a valid MN warrant. The 29-year-old female was transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures and later transported to Wood County Jail.
7.31.19: A 41-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody in the 1100 block of E. Doege St. for a Wisconsin Rapids warrant. The man was unable to post the necessary bond and was transported to Wood County Jail.
7.30.19 at 1500: A Marshfield woman reported leaving her keys in the lock of her apartment door while moving into her apartment. She heard a noise and later noticed her keys were missing. Her key chain consisted of a green lanyard with the words “Upham Village” and a blue cloth fish with a zipper on it. There were also two sets of mailbox keys, two sets of apartment keys, a gray Dodge vehicle key and a gas cap key attached to the lanyard. She said she did not give anyone permission to take the keys. A neighborhood canvas was completed with negative results.
7.30.19: A 39-year-old Marshfield female was arrested in the 1100 block of Adler Rd for a valid Marshfield PD felony warrant. She was transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail.
7.30.19: A 21-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for a Clark County warrant. The man was transported back to Marshfield PD where booking procedures were completed. The man was able to post bond and was released.
7.29.19 at 1942: A Marshfield man reported that a child custody dispute between him and a 24-year-old woman had turned into a physical disturbance. The man reported being struck in the head during the disturbance. While officers were responding, the female called the police and alleged she had been the victim in the dispute. Several parties were interviewed. The woman sought medical treatment at MMC ER, then went to Marshfield PD, where she was taken into custody and booked. She posted the required bond and was released. A 72-hour no-contact probation was enforced. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
7.29.19 at 1351: A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 block of N Vine Ave. K9 Steffi indicated the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle. A 20-year-old man from Milladore was arrested for Possession of THC and Drug Paraphernalia. The male was found to be on felony bond through Wood County. The male was booked and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges were requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
7.29.19 at 1154: A traffic stop was performed in the 100 block of E Franklin St. on a 47-year-old Marshfield man operating an ATV on the road. The ATV had been listed as stolen through Clark County. The male was taken into custody on a probation hold and transported to Wood County Jail. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department was notified, and the ATV was taken to impound.
7.29.19 at 1105: Complainant reported that his coworker observed an unknown subject take bolt cutters and cut the bike lock off his bicycle with bolt cutters and ride the bike away. Description of the subject was provided as well as surveillance footage, although the footage did not capture anything of evidentiary value to identify the subject. Eventually, the suspect, a 42-year-old Marshfield male, returned the bike and was issued a citation for theft.
7.29.19 at 0839: At the listed date and time the manager for St. Vincent de Paul store contacted police in reference to ongoing issues the it has been having with drop-offs. The store does not accept donations after hours and after being closed over the weekend, the manager reported that staff had arrived to work with piles of dropped off items outside their doors on Monday morning. Many items are not accepted by the center, which can incur costs to dispose of the items properly. Other items that have been donated get rummaged through and stolen. Although many different people do this, one 25-year-old Marshfield man was warned about it.
7.29.19 at 0700: A Marshfield woman reported that while she was at work on the listed date, an unknown person(s) paintballed her vehicle. She stated that other employees had their vehicles paintballed on Saturday night as well. Her place of employment is requesting extra patrol.
7.29.19: A 22-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody in the 1300 block of N Central Ave for a probation warrant. The man was transported to Marshfield PD where booking procedures were completed, then transported to Wood County Jail.
7.28.19 at 2048: A traffic stop was performed on N Central Ave at the listed date and time. A search of the vehicle was conducted after the odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Upon search, illegal items were located. Ultimately a 35-year-old Marshfield male was arrested and transported to the Marshfield PD for booking procedures. The male was later released. Charges are being requested through the Marathon County DA’s office.
7.28.19 at 1947: Complainant reported a disturbance with a 48-year-old Marshfield male who is her live-in boyfriend. During the interview it was found that the disturbance did not actually take place in Marshfield. WOSO was contacted and continued the investigation. The male was detained by Marshfield PD, then taken into custody by Wood County Sheriff’s Department, pending charges and probation hold.
7.28.19 at 1318: Officers were dispatched to a fast food restaurant to do a Welfare Check on two juveniles that had been sleeping in the restaurant since 8:00am. The juveniles were both reported as runaways and were returned to their parents. Referrals will be requested to their respective counties.
7.27.19 at 2031: A Marshfield man called 911 and reported a disturbance at a location in Marshfield. Officers responded to the scene and after further investigation two adult males, one a 36-year-old and the other a 28-year-old, both from Marshfield, were arrested for Battery (Domestic Related). They were transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures. The 36-year-old man was released after posting bond. The 28-year-old man was medically cleared and placed under an emergency detention after making suicidal comments. Request for charges for both men will be forwarded to the Wood County DA’s office.
7.27.19 at 1911: A Marshfield woman reported that another woman, a 27-year-old from Marshfield, gave away her dog while it was under the 27-year-old’s care. The 27-year-old told police that she was concerned about the well-being of the animal. The dog was given back to the complainant.
7.27.19 at 1359: Officers got in touch with a 14-year-old Spencer female after an anonymous tip came through that the female is not allowed to babysit other children without adult supervision due to an open Marathon County court case. At the residence the girl was accompanied by a 33-year-old Marshfield female who was at home with her 9-year-old son. No further action was needed.
7.26.19 at 2230: A Park Patrol Officer reported discovering two instances of graffiti in the woman’s restroom at the Steven J Miller Recreation area. Photographs of the damage were emailed to the Parks and Rec Department and uploaded to Evidence.com. There are currently no suspects.
7.26.19 at 0941: On the listed date and time a 26-year-old Marshfield male was taken into custody during a traffic stop for a DOC warrant and for Possession of Methamphetamine (86 grams). The male was transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures and later to Wood County Jail. Charges will be forwarded to the Wood County DA.
7.25.19 at 0645: A Marshfield man contacted police after he witnessed a vehicle drive through his ditch and strike his mailbox, causing damage to both. Contact was made with the registered owner of the vehicle who was already on scene with the complainant. Both parties agreed to handle all damages personally and needed no further assistance. City Garage was contacted to remount a speed sign that was undamaged.
