MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – January 28

During a traffic stop, two 24 year old Marshfield males provided false names to an Officer. During the investigation, the identity of the two males was learned. Charges for obstructing an officer will be directed to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for review.

January 29

A 22-year-old Marshfield man had himself medically treated after being bitten by his own cat which caused two small puncture marks on his left index finger which had broken the skin. He was able to provide proper documentation of the cat’s current immunization status and he was given a form to be completed by a vet.

A 62-year-old Marshfield man contacted police and reported a street sign down and some branches in the roadway at a Marshfield intersection. The damage appeared consistent with a large truck having a difficult time making a right tum from N Apple Ave onto Waushara St. looking at the tire tracks in the snow. The street name sign was attached to wooden electrical pole that did not appear to receive damage. There are no suspects at this time. The street department was notified.

January 30

A 49-year-old Marshfield male reported he left his residence on foot with his wallet and cell phone but once he got to a local gas station, he no longer had it. The man said he bent down to tie his shoe a few times. A day later, the man noticed two transactions on his bank account that he did not authorize for a total of $469.83. The Department does not have any suspects at this time.

A 46-year-old male and 39-year-old female were involved in an altercation. The male was taken into custody for Domestic DC and misdemeanor bail jumping. The male was transported to Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance and later transported to Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested through Wood County DA.

Marshfield Police Officers were requested to assist with locating a stolen trailer from the Chippewa County area. Law enforcement ultimately located a 22-year-old Spencer man in possession of the trailer and he fled the scene but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. A 23-year-old Marshfield man was also apprehended for having multiple warrants and transported to the Wood County Jail. The Wood County Sheriffs Department is requesting charges through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

February 2

On February 2, a physical altercation took place between two 17-year-old males at Marshfield Senior High. One of the 17 year olds suffered an injury that required stitches. The other 17-year-old male was taken into custody and transported to Wood County Jail. A charge of substantial battery will be requested through the Wood County DA.

A 19-year-old Marshfield male came to the Marshfield Police Department to tum himself in for the possession of drug paraphernalia. The man stated that he wanted to go to jail so he intentionally sought out drug paraphernalia so officers would take him to jail. Officers confiscated the drug paraphernalia and requested charges through the Wood County DA. The man was not transported to jail.

A 77-year-old Marshfield female stated she received a call from an individual requesting money for the “policeman’s association” and provided the individual her credit card information and authorized $30.00 to be donated. The woman stated after the phone call she thought it was possibly a scam and attempted to call back the number but it was not a valid phone number. The woman stated she is not out any money at this time according to her bank information and that she was going to call the bank to have them freeze her account. No further action taken.

A 24-year-old Marshfield woman called to report that she had received messages from a 34-year-old friend regarding the mother of his children. The messages had referenced a firearm and threats towards the mother. The victim was contacted and was unaware of the messages or that the man was upset with her. Probation and Parole was contacted and issued a warrant due to the threatening comments. The man was taken into custody on a probation hold and a charge of Disorderly Conduct-Domestic will be referred to Wood County District Attorney’s office. 72 hour no contact enforced.

February 3

A 44-year-old Marshfield woman came to the police department to report that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, a 44-year-old Marshfield man. The woman showed officers numerous text messages that she had received from the man throughout the day. The woman also advised officers that she had just received a restraining order against the man that day, due to his previous concerning behavior, but he had not yet been served. Officers and deputies made contact with the man at his residence. Officers advised the man of the harassment complaint and told him to stop all contact with the woman. Deputies then served the man with restraining order.

A 32-year-old Marshfield male was arrested with outstanding warrants at his residence. During contact, green plant material was located which later tested positive for THC. Charges were requested through Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

A 44-year-old Marshfield woman reported miscellaneous items missing from her apartment that she believes her roommate, a 51-year-old female, took. Contact was made with the female who denied taking the items or entering her room. The female informed me that the 44-year-old female threw those items in front of her bedroom over the night hours to include additional items that belonged to her.

The owner of a property that is currently for sale had noticed minor damage, items re-arranged, and the new bathroom showing usage. The locked door had signs of being pried open and unknown suspect/s had utilized the residence for unknown time without permission and had taken a number of items. Evidence on scene was gathered and photos taken.

February 4

Officers were dispatched to a Marshfield location for what was reported as a possible physical altercation between the parents of the complainant. When officers arrived everything was calm, but both parents admitted that there was a heated argument prior to officers arrival. Officers investigated the matter and determined that it did not meet the criteria for domestic abuse and the two parties were separated for the night.
