Police Reports: K9 Rika Bust and 4th Offense OWI

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – September 23

Complainant reported that over two weeks ago at an unknown time an 18-year-old male placed scrap metal in his vehicle that did not belong to him. The male denied taking or placing any items in the vehicle. It should be noted the vehicle was filled with scrap metal and a few select items were taken out by the complainant as stolen items. Those items were taken for safe keeping pending locating a victim. Local businesses were checked for any evidence or being a victim and at this time no information was found.

October 1

A traffic stop was conducted at a Marshfield location. K9 Rika alerted to the presence of a controlled substance from within the vehicle. Officers conducted a vehicle search and located several illegal items, some of which were consistent to distributing controlled substances. A 48-year-old Marshfield male was arrested and later transported to Wood County Jail after medical clearance. Charges are being requested on the male through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia to store methamphetamine, and possess/illegally obtain prescription.

A complainant reported that a 86-year-old neighbor was concerned that an unknown male walked around her garage and may have attempted to enter through the side door. The complainant asked officers to check the residence. The residence was found to be in the condition that she left it and appears that entry not attempted or gained. Officers checked the area for the male but did not locate anyone matching the description given.

A Walmart Loss Prevention Officer observed a 28-year-old Phillips female and a 43-year-old Prentice woman switch price tags and not scan multiple items before leaving Walmart. He attempted to stop the women but they refused to remain on scene. They were located several blocks away by police and brought back to Walmart. Multiple stolen items were recovered from their vehicle. Walmart is working on a list of items stolen and the prices. The females were released pending further information from Walmart.

A 30-year-old Loyal woman and 3 other people reported that they were shopping at Walmart  and when they came out to their vehicles, their key fobs no longer worked and some of their vehicles would not start. They were able to research a remedy to get the key fobs working again. There will be further investigation with Walmart Loss Prevention.

A 20-year-old Marshfield woman reported she was being harassed by a 21 year old Marshfield female after law enforcement was called in regards to the woman’s child. The complainant showed Facebook posts made by this other female. This did not meet criteria for harassment. However, the sister of this female had contacted the woman and threatened to physically harm her. The complainant did not have any contact information to provide for this sister. Officer’s attempted contact with the 21-year-old at her residence as well as phone contact but both were unsuccessful.

A complainant, and a 25-year-old Marshfield woman, came to the department to report a 32-year-old Marshfield male had threatened to damage the complainant’s truck which was parked across the street from the man’s house. Investigation revealed the woman lives with the 32-year-old and wanted to move out. The complainant owes the 32-year-old money. The woman said her case worker told her she needed to move out. An officer left a message with the case worker to call the officer back. A civil standby was arranged.

October 2

A 30-year-old woman reported that her ex-boyfriend was supposed to assist her with getting a new phone line through Verizon, but instead, she believes he used the money for posting his bond. The woman stated he had told her this would cost $150. On her credit card statement, the transaction that she believes he used to post his bond was made by Verizon for $150. This is unfounded at this time.

October 3

A 51-year-old Marshfield female reported that she had been receiving text messages from her husband, whom she has a restraining order against. Contact was made with the husband and he admitted to sending her text messages. The husband was taken into custody and transported  to the Waupaca County Jail. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

A 23-year-old Marshfield female reported a 20-year-old Marshfield male attempted contact with her multiple times in violation of a restraining order. Officers made contact with the male at his residence in the 300 block of W. Kalsched St. who admitted to the violation. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wood Co jail.

October 4

An employee of a local gas station who is a manager reported a possible impaired driver that was in the parking lot. Officers arrived and made contact with the driver, a 57-year-old Marshfield female. As a result of the contact the female was arrested for OWI 4th and transported to the Marshfield Medical Center ER for a legal blood draw. After the blood draw the female was transported to the Marshfield PD for booking and later released to a responsible party. Charges for OWI 4th will be forwarded to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.

A juvenile subject reported that a 17-year-old Spencer, WI male was showing others a handgun he had in his possession while in the parking lot of Walmart. Officers made contact with the 17-year-old a short time later who admitted to being in possession of the handgun which was located within his reach in his vehicle. Charges are being requested through the Marathon County D.A.’s office.

A local gas station employee reported that an employee, a 22-year-old Marshfield female, has stolen approximately $4,250.00 in money orders from the business. Investigation to continue.

A 23-year-old Marshfield female reported that her high mounted stop lamp was damaged on her vehicle. She stated she had a possible suspect, a 20-year-old Marshfield male, but did not have any evidence to support that it was for sure him. Contact was attempted for the 20-year-old male and a voicemail was left for him.

A 5-year-old Marshfield man called stating within the last few weeks his rear tires have been deflated, once by a screw and one by a roofing nail. He stated he has since got the tires fixed. The man stated he had a possible suspect, a 54-year-old Marshfield male but was unable to support it. Contact was made with the male and he denied the actions. No further action taken.

A local bar called stating there was a middle age male that vandalized the siding of the building near bar close on the above listed date. They did have video footage however can not identify the male subject. No further action taken.

A 46-year-old Marshfield male reported encountering a 58-year-old Marshfield male who has a restraining order against the complainant and the male asked the complainant if he could speak with him. The complainant declined to engage in the conversation and walked away. The 58-year-old was spoken with and advised to stay away from the complainant.

October 5

A 36-year-old Marshfield man called stating he wished to have a report on file referencing sexual harassment incidents that have occurred at his place of employment He stated the employer is taking internal action and the suspect, a 57-year-old Marshfield male, received a no-trespassing letter from the store. The complainant wished for Law Enforcement to have an informational report on file in case something would occur in the future. No further action taken.

A 24-year-old Marshfield woman reported that an unknown individual had forced entry into her residence, moved multiple household items around and stole misc. items. The complainant and her family did not have any suspects although a couple items of physical evidence was located and collected on scene. During a neighborhood canvas, one neighbor observed a male leaving the residence during the day on a bicycle.

Probation called stating they were out with a 32-year-old Marshfield male who they wished to have taken into custody on a probation hold. Officers located items of contraband inside the house. Charges are being requested through Wood County DA office.

An employee of a local business reported the theft of three catalytic converters off three trucks that the company owns.
