Police Reports: K9 Rika Assists in Arrest

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – January 7

The mother of a 19 year old Marshfield male reported he was calling her repeatedly because he was upset that she gave away an item that belonged to him. Contact was made with the male and he agreed to stop calling his mother. No further action taken.

A 32-year-old Marshfield woman reported a physical disturbance between her and her husband. The husband, a 35 year-old Marshfield male had left prior to police arrival but was later taken into custody. The male was transported to Wood County Jail. Charges of Battery, Disorderly Conduct – Domestic Abuse related will be requested through Wood County District Attorney’s Office on the male.

A 21-year-old Marshfield woman stated her vehicle tire was slashed while she was at work. The woman did not realize her tire was flat and drove home on the flat tire. An officer looked at the tire and it was in bad shape from being driven on but there was a one inch cut on the outside sidewall of the tire. The woman said she has no suspects. The damaged tire was the front driver’s side tire.

January 8

A 36-year-old Marshfield woman called to report an apartment with loud music. Upon arrival, a male and female exited a different apartment and smelled of marijuana. A 24-year-old Spencer female was referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s for Possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.

A 30-year-old Marshfield man reported that there was a car on fire at a Marshfield business and was near other vehicles and buildings. Upon arrival, a vehicle was fully engulfed and Marshfield Fire extinguished the fire. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle. He stated the car has been parked there since 01/02/2022 after being involved in an accident. Contact was also made with a keyholder from the business. He advised they would check video footage. Marshfield Fire Inspector did not suspect any foul play. No further action taken.

Lt. Marten requested K9 Rika to a Marshfield address to assist in taking an individual who was upstairs and not listening to commands to surrender. K9 Rika was successful in assisting to apprehend the suspect. The suspect made threats to K9 Rika and the Sheriff’s department is requesting charges of Harassment of Police animal along with other charges.
