MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – June 25

A 58-year-old Marshfield man reported he was assaulted at an unknown location possibly in Marshfield. The man was transported to MMC by Marshfield EMS. The man later admitted he made up the story about him being assaulted and had tripped and fell. A request for charges is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for Obstructing.

An agency assist was requested by the Portage County Sheriff’s office. It was requested that officers assist with a legal blood draw. Police assisted and the blood was later sent to the state lab of hygiene.

A 54-year-old Marshfield man reported a 22-year-old Marshfield male was trespassing at his place of business. Officers located the 22-year-old male and another male subject on the business property upon arrival. Both appeared to be under the influence of an unknown
substance. The 22-year-old male informed this officer that they had permission from the property owner to remove a vehicle from the property for scrap purposes. The 22-year-old male was taken into custody and transported to the Marathon Co Jail.

June 26

Between April 2021 and May 2021, a 23-year-old Marshfield female reported an 18-year-old Marshfield male had been sending her pictures of her vehicle while she was at work. This would occur approximately one to two times per week. Johns did not wish to press charges. The male party was later contacted in person and issued a warning letter for stalking.

Dispatch advised they received an open-line 911 call from an unknown number. Dispatch advised there was a male and a female on the line talking about drug usage and being impaired. Contact was made with individuals fitting the description at the Baymont Hotel. As a result, a 36-year-old Wisconsin Rapids male was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.

June 27

A 38-year-old Marshfield woman reported her 15-year-old daughter was out of control and had become physical towards her along with other family members in the residence. Officers made contact with the 15-year-old and were able to calm her down. A Juvenile Referral for Disorderly Conduct will be completed.

A complainant reported a 52-year-old male was causing a disturbance and harassing her by repeatedly ringing her doorbell and banging on her window. The man was present upon officer arrival and indicated he just wanted to exchange phones back. Officers facilitated the exchange of phones. Officers told the man he is not to have any more contact with the woman at her residence, work, or anywhere and that he would be cited for any unsolicited contact.

June 29

A 37-year-old Marshfield woman reported that a 35-year-old man had gotten into a theological debate with their 9-year-old son. The 35-year-old man then locked the 9-year-old’s online Nintendo Switch account. The woman felt this was inappropriate as the Nintendo Switch console belonged to the 9-year-old. Only the online portions were effected and those are all under the 35-year-old’s account. There does not appear to be any criminal activity that happened. The woman was encouraged to separate the man’s account from their Nintendo and create their own.

A 23-year-old Marshfield woman reported she was involved in a dispute with her boyfriend, a 22-year-old Marshfield male. It was learned an argument ensued as a result of frustrations with being evicted and having to move. Both individuals agreed to separate for the day and take turns moving their respected items from the apartment. Wood County Crisis was also contacted for the 22-year-old male as he was feeling depressed because of the situation and a safety plan was put in place.

A 25-year-old Marshfield woman was operating a vehicle and traveling southbound on N Central Ave. Another vehicle rear-ended the woman as she was stopped at the listed intersection. The other vehicle left the scene traveling southbound on N Central Ave. The woman was unable to provide any identifying information on the striking vehicle other than it was a newer black car. The woman’s vehicle received minor damage.

A 29-year-old Marshfield woman called requesting an officer regarding ongoing relationship problems and drug addiction by her 46-year-old husband. Various household and relationship aspects were discussed and the wife was given options, resources, and support information to proceed how she determined.

June 30

A 31-year-old Madison, WI male and a 26-year-old Janesville, WI female were taken into custody after a high-speed pursuit through the center of Marshfield today on State Highway 13/Veterans Parkway. The vehicle had been involved in a gas drive off earlier in the day in Marshfield and was identified at that time as a stolen vehicle from Madison, WI. The vehicle was spotted by Spencer Police and followed toward Marshfield on State Highway 13 until other officers were present to participate in stopping the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop when officers activated their emergency lights and sirens. It accelerated to speeds nearing 90 miles per hour and drove in oncoming lanes of traffic. Tire deflation devices and pursuit intervention techniques were used by officers to attempt to stop the pursuit. When the vehicle became disabled on State Highway 13 / E. Veterans Parkway near S Palmetto Ave, the subjects exited the vehicle and submitted to arrest without further incident. Eighty-one grams of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) were recovered from the vehicle and female subject. The male is being charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, Operating While Intoxicated, Operating After Suspension, Reckless Driving, Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA (Ecstasy), Possession of THC, Bail Jumping, and a Probation Hold. The female’s charges are still under review. Deputies from the Wood County Sheriffs Department also assisted with this case.

An anonymous tip was given to a detective about a vehicle that the driver may be impaired. Contact was made with the driver following a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody based on poor SFST and during a search of the vehicle drug paraphernalia and an unidentified capsule was found. The driver a 22-year-old Marshfield male consented to a blood draw and was transported to Marathon County Jail. During this time a medical clearance was requested and the male was transported to MMC for treatment. Upon medical clearance he will be transported back to Marathon County Jail.

The Marshfield Police Department received a report forwarded from Marathon County Sheriff’s Office in regards to a 53-year-old Wausau woman being a victim of a scam. After purchasing items from Etsy.com, the woman reported receiving phone calls and text messages. After a phone call with an employee from the woman’s financial institution, the woman was unable to access her bank account and she was now at a loss of $2,355.46.

A 53-year-old Marshfield man reported unwanted contact from a 35-year-old Spencer woman’s ex-boyfriend. The 53-year-old stated he received a friend request on Messenger from the ex-boyfriend. The 53-year-old also reported the 35-year-old woman told him about an incident involving her ex-boyfriend at her address where her ex-boyfriend wouldn’t let her leave and took her phone from her. In speaking with the 35-year-old woman she stated she was never prevented from leaving her residence and her phone was never taken away from her. The woman requested no law enforcement contact be made with her ex-boyfriend regarding the friend request. The woman stated her ex-boyfriend is also her employer and she did not want to create future problems. The 53-year-old man stated he understood the woman’s concerns and just wanted the incident documented.
