Police Reports: Former Student Makes Possible Weapons Threat on Instagram

5.5.19 at 2300: Grand Rapids, Michigan PD requested Marshfield PD officers respond to Marshfield Medical Center to conduct a legal blood draw of a 35-year-old male who was involved in a traffic crash in Grand Rapids and flown to MMC for his injuries. The Grand Rapids officer stated that the male had consented to a blood draw at the scene of the crash. Officers responded to MMC and collected the blood sample. The blood kit remained in officer’s possession until placed in a U.S. postal box.

5.5.19 at 1925: A 43-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for bail jumping and resisting. In addition, a 50-year-old Marshfield woman was arrested for bail jumping and obstruction after they were seen drinking and recognized to be on bond. They were booked and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested to the Wood County District Attorney.

5.4.19 at 2103: A 50-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct at a house in Marshfield following an investigation. The man was transported to Marshfield PD for booking. The victim did not sign the waiver of domestic abuse contact prohibition form. The man posted the required $150.00 bond and signed the conditional release contact prohibition agreement form. A request for a charge of Domestic Disorderly Conduct is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s office. The LAP form was completed, and a shelter advocate was contacted and spoke to the victim.

5.4.19 at 1950: A woman called the Marshfield PD to report that she left her place of employment, a Marshfield restaurant, at 1900 hours and realized the hood of her vehicle damaged and dented in. The complainant stated a white SUV was parked in the spot ahead of her vehicle when she started her shift earlier that night. The damage was photographed, and the adjacent hotel advised they have no cameras set up in their back lot, where the car was parked.

5.4.19 at 1921: A 39-year-old Marshfield male and 38-year-old Marshfield woman were involved in a physical altercation. The 39-year-old male damaged a door at the residence. The male ultimately was taken into custody for Domestic Battery and Criminal Damage to Property. The male was transported the Marshfield PD where he was booked and later transported to the Marathon County Jail.

5.4.19 at 1235: Wal-Mart Loss Prevention notified Wood County dispatch that they had a female subject in custody for shoplifting. An officer responded and contacted a 75-year-old Marshfield female. Loss Prevention confirmed that they observed the female take various cat items and go beyond the last point of sale. The female admitted to taking the items and confirmed that they were for her cat. She had a prior retail theft on 12/6/18. She was arrested and transported to the Marshfield PD for booking procedures and was later released. Charges for Retail Theft are being requested through the Marathon County District Attorney’s office.

5.3.19 at 2241: Officers responded to an anonymous call that an underage party involving alcohol was occurring. Upon contact an 18-year-old Marshfield male was taken into custody for two valid warrants and for possession of Marijuana. A 28-year-old male was also charged with bail jumping as he had an open case in Milwaukee County. The 28-year-old male was booked and transported to Wood County Jail.

5.3.19 at 1929: A Marshfield business employee reported that a vehicle struck part of the roof at their drive-thru and left without contacting any employees. The roof was photographed, and a voicemail was left for a business out of Oshkosh, WI, where they were advised to contact Marshfield PD regarding the incident.

5.3.19 at 0756: While investigating a disturbance call at a location in Marshfield, a 38-year-old Marshfield female was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine, a misdemeanor and felony bail jumping. A 23-year-old Marshfield male was also arrested for a PO hold. Both suspects were brought to the Marshfield PD, booked and then transported to WOSO Jail. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office for the female.

5.3.19 at 0632: Marshfield High School called the Marshfield PD with concerns regarding an Instagram post they had been made aware of. The post was from the account of a former student. The post involved an image of a possible weapon with the phrase “Don’t come to school today.” Extra officer presence was initiated at the school and contact with the 21-year-old former student along with his mother was made within a few minutes at his residence. The Instagram photo was a plastic children’s toy from the latest Avengers movie with the “weapon” being an item that has fictional magic powers. The 21-year-old man did not intend for the post to be taken as a threat, has no issues with anyone from the school, and did not understand why the post was perceived as a threat. The officer and his mother both lectured him on how any comment such as the one in the post can be considered a possible threat and will be taken seriously. The mother was handling parental punishment, the post was removed, and the man understood how things were perceived. The issue was resolved by 0710 hours, so school routine was not impacted, however, extra police presence was still provided. No further action was taken.

5.2.19 at 1020: A Marshfield man reported to officers that an unknown person(s) took his unsecured bicycle, which was outside his residence, sometime between May 2nd & 3rd. The man has no suspect(s). The man reported that his bike was registered with the Marshfield Police Department which was verified by the officer. Bike was entered in NCIC as stolen. There was no further action at that time.
