Police Reports: Car thefts and OWIs over July 4th weekend

June 30

A 35-year-old Marshfield man came out to his vehicle in the Target parking lot and noticed his passenger side tail lamp was broken and nobody else was around to claim what happened. Upon further investigation, surveillance footage showed a female had left her shopping cart, not putting it away, which then rolled all the way to the man’s vehicle and breaking the tail lamp. The female stated she did not know this happened. Case closed.

July 1

A 49-year-old Marshfield man reported three unknown females had access to his bank account and now the man feels it is suspicious. The man gave these females who live in different states permission to use his bank account. They would deposit money into the account and then they would request the man to purchase gift cards for them. The man was not out any money but now the females were becoming upset as they’re unable to withdraw the money and now the man is wanting to close his account.

July 3

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for an expired registration. A 23-year-old Kronenwetter male was identified as the operator. Several items to include catalytic converters and a neon bar sign were observed in plain view inside the vehicle. The catalytic converts were found to be removed from another vehicle the operator owns and was parting out. The bar sign was removed from private property and the owner of that sign stated he will be filing a report through that jurisdiction. The bar sign was collected as evidence.

A 51-year-old Marshfield woman reported a physical domestic disturbance in which a 55-year-old man had been assaulted by a 54-year-old Marshfield woman. Officers arrived and interviewed all parties. The 54-year-old woman was arrested. She requested medical attention and was transported to MMC ER. After being medically cleared, the woman was transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

A 22-year-old Marshfield woman reported having some items taken from the her vehicle. The vehicle was secured and no evidence of forced entry was observed. The vehicle was gone through by the owners prior to officer arrival. Permission was not given to anyone take the items and there are no suspects. Another vehicle was also found to have been entered with items taken. Attempts to obtain DNA from the other vehicle were completed.

While this officer was investigating another vehicle entry a 27-year-old Marshfield man found his secured vehicle had also been entered and the listed item removed. The man did not give anyone permission to take the item or list any suspects. An effort to obtain DNA was completed.

A complainant reported witnessing/hearing a physical altercation between a 28-year-old female and 35-year-old male at the above location. Upon officer arrival the female was heard screaming for help within her room. The female was able to answer the door and was escorted to the manager for safety. The male was eventually placed into custody and transported to MMC for medical clearance and later Wood County Jail. Charges of Suffocation, False Imprisonment, Battery, Resisting Arrest, Bail Jumping, Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Abuse are requested on the male through Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

Officers arrested a 54-year-old Tennessee man for multiple warrants following a traffic stop. The man was cited for multiple violations and was then transported to the WOSO Jail.

July 4

A 56-year-old Marshfield man stated an unknown male knocked on his door and when he opened the door the male hit him multiple times in the face causing injuries to him. Investigation to continue.

A 24-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for 4th offense OWI following a traffic stop. The man refused a legal blood draw and a warrant was obtained for a sample of his blood. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and was then transported to the Wood County Jail.

A 20-year-old Marshfield woman witnessed a disturbance happening between a 18-year-old Marshfield woman and 19-year-old Marshfield man. The witness then escorted the 18-year-old woman away. The 18-year-old called police. Officers made contact with the 19-year-old man, who was arrested. P&P placed a hold on the man, who was then transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

July 5

During a traffic stop a male was arrested for his 2nd offense OWI, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Bail Jumping. The male was medically cleared at MMC and then was transported to jail for the new charges and a probation hold.

July 6

A victim reported that his vehicle was entered without his consent and his wallet was taken from the vehicle. The victim did not know which specific cards were taken or which ones were stored in his wallet. The neighboring vehicles were also checked in the event others were entered and it did not appear that they were. At this time there are no suspects.

Officers were called to assist Probation and Parole with taking a 23-year-old male into custody for a probation violation. The male was arrested without incident and was ultimately transported to the Wood County Jail.

Walmart Loss Prevention called officers to apprehend a 72-year-old female who had attempted to leave without paying for multiple items. Contact was made with the female who admitted to going passed the last point of sale. A request for Charges will be forwarded to the Marathon District Attorney’s office for theft and misdemeanor bail jumping. She will also be mailed a citation for trespassing.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a Marshfield residence. The victim reported her boyfriend had thrown her phone during a verbal altercation causing the screen to break. The boyfriend was placed under arrest and transported to the Marshfield PD for booking procedures. Following booking procedures, he was transported to the Wood County Jail.

As a result of a traffic stop, a 35-year-old Spencer male was taken into custody for a felony and misdemeanor warrant. The 35-year-old male also had medication in his possession without a valid prescription, the male was advised to provide MPD with a copy of his prescription or a request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

July 7

A 47-year-old Marshfield female contacted police after her ex-husband, a 47-year-old Marshfield male, yelled profanities directed towards herself. The male was contacted and warned for his behavior.

July 8

A 45-year-old Marshfield woman contacted police after she received information that her ex-husband, a 54-year-old Pittsville man, violated his felony bond restrictions by having contact with her juvenile son and a friend of the son. Investigation to continue.

July 9

A 40-year-old Marshfield man reported that a 32-year-old Fond Du Lac male, who was highly intoxicated, created a disturbance and attacked an employee at the above listed location. The suspect was taken into custody. While being transported to the Wood County Jail, the suspect threatened an Officer. A request for charges will be filed with the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
