Police Reports: Black Friday Scam and Multiple Break-Ins

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – November 26

A 41-year-old Marshfield woman reported to an officer that an unknown person obtained her debit card information and made an online purchase on BESTBUY.COM. She stated she gave no person(s) permission to use her debit card for any purchases. She stated she gave her debit card information to no person(s). She stated the person may have picked up the merchandise at Best Buy in Richfield, MN. This will be forwarded to the detective bureau for follow-up.

A 24-year-old Marshfield woman reported a disturbance between a 25-year-old Marshfield female and 32-year-old Marshfield male that occurred at a Marshfield residence. The complainant was not on scene but advised she received text messages regarding the altercation from the involved female. Officers contacted the involved parties and it was determined the argument was only verbal.

November 27

A 53-year-old female was found deceased in her residence. Wood County Deputy Coroner arrived on scene for the investigation. Rembs Funeral Home assisted with the removal of the body.

November 29

The manager for a local landscaping company reported the theft of two catalytic converters off of two of the company’s pick-up trucks.

December 1

A 31-year-old Marshfield woman reported finding her storage locker located at the above address had been broken into. The locker was entered by prying the fencing away from the basement wall with a tool. The woman stated nothing was believed to be missing however multiple items were removed and found outside the locker.

Officers were dispatched for a disturbance at a Marshfield apartment complex. Upon arrival officers noticed a coffee table lying upside down on the floor and appeared to be broken. The tenants at the apartment stated one of them sat on the table and it broke causing her to fall to the floor and yell. In speaking with other tenants in the apartment building it was reported that there was loud yelling and the sound of things hitting the wall and breaking. No other damage was observed in the apartment.

A 33-year-old Marshfield woman reported multiple items were stolen from her residence between 10 pm on 11/30/2021 and 6 am on 12/1/2021. The woman advised her garage door was unlocked and she would contact law enforcement if she noticed more items missing.
