Greenwood’s Cooper Bredlau has been a standout three-sport athlete, excelling in football, basketball and baseball. Bredlau is looking at attending college as an engineering major, and has definitely appreciated his time in high school athletics.

Learn about what makes Bredlau ‘tick’ with the world-famous interview ‘Pancakes or Waffles?’

OnFocus: What classes are you taking this year?

Bredlau: This year I have had a variety of classes. With the completion of our first semester coming up I have taken English, Advanced Manufacturing, Forestry, Current Issues, Machine Tool, Electronics, and Calculus. This upcoming  semester I will have English, Contemporary History, Landscape Design, Personal Finance, Astronomy, Engineering, and Calculus.

OnFocus: What is your favorite class?

Bredlau: First semester my favorite class was Advanced Manufacturing because that  class is like running a small business. You have one big Christmas project that needs to be done by the start of December. The students do all the machining and manufacturing. Our teacher deals with the money and what jobs each student has each day.

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

Bredlau: My hobbies are hunting, fishing, and playing board/video games.

OnFocus: Who is/was your favorite teacher?

Bredlau: My favorite teacher is Mr. Noah Werner. He has taught me not only how to use multiple different types of machines, but also how to solve problems by myself.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Bredlau:The most unusual food I have eaten would be sushi. The texture of the fish is kind of off putting and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Bredlau: Rap or Country.

OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?

Bredlau: To attend a 4 year college studying some type of engineering.

OnFocus: If they made a movie about you, and your life,  what would it be called?

Bredlau: ‘Livin with Coop.’

OnFocus: What sports do you play?

Bredlau: I play football, basketball, and baseball.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Bredlau: Austen Humke.

OnFocus: What is your most memorable moment as an athlete?

Bredlau: My most memorable moment as an athlete would be playing in the Sectional Semi-Final at Crivitz for baseball. Most sophomores don’t get to start and pitch in a Sectional Semi-Final.

OnFocus: Who is your favorite athlete?

Bredlau: Mike Trout.

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about playing home games?

Bredlau: This year I have enjoyed more and more that we have a student section at our home games.

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Greenwood High School?

Bredlau: The best thing about being a student athlete is learning how to talk to different types of people and how to help younger kids.

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Bredlau: Don’t take a season for granted. Everything goes faster than you think.

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?

Bredlau: Pancakes.
