Loyal (OnFocus) – A scoreless game through most of the first half saw Pacelli bust open with a pair of touchdowns a minute apart before halftime, and the Cardinals cruised to a 41-0 win over Loyal in CWC-Small action.
The win was the first for Pacelli, which improved to 1-2. The loss dropped Loyal to 1-1.
With two minutes remaining in the half, Pacelli’s Drew Kedrowicz scored on a 17 yard interception return.
Just a minute later, Nicholas Schroeder scored from three yard out and Pacelli led 13-0 at the half.
Pacelli came out after halftime looking to put the game out of reach, and they did so with a punishing ground game. Brycen Cashin scored the first of his three touchdowns with 8:29 left in the third quarter, an 8 yard run. His 28 yard score four minutes later pushed the lead to 27-0.
Cashin led all rushers with 216 yards on 20 carries. Schroeder added 168 yards on 22 carries.
Pacelli had 8 penalties for 60 yards, while Loyal was penalized 3 times for 25 yards.
Cashin’s third touchdown three minutes into the final quarter and Schroeder’s 1 yard plunge with two minutes remaining capped the Cardinals’ scoring.
Pacelli outgained Loyal, 355 to 122.
The Cardinals’ defense was led by Brock Birrenkott’s 7 total tackles. Kaydin Mayek added 6 tackles.
