Clark County Sheriff’s Office

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of the crash at about 12:10 pm, on Friday December 14th, 2018. Initial investigation indicates that a SUV with 2 occupants, driven by Charles Suda 82 yrs. old, was driving west on STH 98 and stopped for the stop sign at the STH 73 intersection. The SUV then pulled out to go north bound in front of a semi being driven by Brandon Le Sage 32yrs. old, that was also going north.

The semi hit the rear of the SUV and caused it to enter the east ditch and flip onto its side. The semi also entered the east ditch and flipped onto its side. The driver of the semi was uninjured and was able to exit his vehicle. The Greenwood Area Fire Department was able to get the two occupants of the SUV out and transported the passenger to the Marshfield Medical Center.

STH 73 was blocked for several hours while cattle were unloaded from the semi-trailer. Failure to yield right-of-way appears to be a factor in the accident.
