Marshfield Officer Attacked By Dog When Responding to Incident

Marshfield (OnFocus) Thursday evening shortly before 8 pm, a marshfield resident and another individual were jogging near the intersection of North Oak Ave and West Blodget. A medium size dog aggressively charged the joggers.

A Marshfield Police officer responded to the incident at 7:53 pm and was attacked by the dog upon his arrival. The officer discharged his sidearm to protect himself.

The officer was bitten by the dog, however was uninjured. The dog sustained minor injuries and is expected to survive.

A citation was issued to the dog owner for an animal at large.
