William “Bill” Charles Borofka

William “Bill” Charles Borofka lost his battle to Covid 19 and passed away on December 27, 2020, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.  A private family service will be held with a life celebration planned for later this summer

Bill was born on January 15, 1929 in Marshfield, WI to Frank and Nelda (Kuehlman) Borofka.  He attended school in Marshfield and graduated from Marshfield High School

After his education, he served in the United States Army.  On January 18, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Joan Eckes.  They were married for 69 years.

He resided in Marshfield for his entire life.  Many people remember him as the co-owner of the Shoe Mart Shoe Store.  Later, Bill was a realtor for Coldwell Banker.

Bill was active in the community through a variety of organizations.   Organizations included the Marshfield Elks, Marshfield Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

In his spare time, he enjoyed sports, hunting, and sharing time with his family and friends.   He loved watching the Badgers and Packers – being a Packer season ticket holder for over 50 years.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan and sons Phillip (Mary) Borofka, and Charles (Donna) Borofka.  His three surviving daughters are Julie (Jim) Christensen, Jane Borofka, and Cathy (Gordy) Schalow.  Grandchildren include Sarah (Alex) Johnson, Katie Schalow, Anne (Zach) Rickman, Andrew Christensen, and Nathan Borofka.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren. Ella and Jake Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his sister Carol (Borofka) Buehler.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you wear a mask and socially distance.  Do this for yourself and others so that no one else has to lose a loved one to this disease.  Please understand that Covid is real, it is serious, and it is deadly.
